A ship has one of seven classes: capital, cruiser, fighter, frigate, monster, platform, or scout. All are used in the same way, though some cards will refer to a specific class.
Most ships have weapons to be fired in combat. Weapons come in four types: torpedo, beam, missile, and cannon. Collectively, these weapons add up to determine the ship's attack value.
All ships have shields and/or hull. Collectively, they add up to determine a ship's defense value.
Most ships have jump, a number that determines how fast it moves when traveling between systems.
A few ships have influence, just as some personae have.
