Deck Builder Options

Index -> Interface -> Deck Builder -> Deck Builder Options

In the lower-left corner of your Deck Builder, there are several options for managing your deck files.

You can open a New deck, Save the deck you're currently working on, Open/Add to view or modify existing decks, and Delete saved deck files. Other Options are described in more detail below.

Open Online and Save As Online

Online Decks are saved not on your computer, but on the server. These decks are useful if you log in to the game from multiple computers. You cannot modify or save these decks when working offline. You are allowed only a limited number of Online Decks.

Click Save As Online to save your current deck as an Online Deck. If you wish to modify an existing Online Deck, click Open Online to load that deck file into the Deck Builder.

E-mail Deck

This option opens a window where you can input an e-mail address to send a deck to. You can browse through saved decks, or check the Use Current Deck box to send the deck you're viewing. If you'd like a brief description or comment about the deck to be included in the e-mail, you can add it in the comment box.

Print List

This option opens a menu of things to print, including your Current Card pool (which prints out the currently filtered cards), Current Deck, Current Wants List, and Trade List. The chosen list will be sent to the selected printer.

Validate Deck

The Deck Validator is a tool you can use to check which play formats allow your current deck.

Clicking on the various tabs will display formats including Standard (all cards permitted), Origins Block or Harbinger Block (only cards from those blocks allowed), Common Ground (only common cards allowed), and Highlander (only one copy of any given card allowed). You may click on the name of any format to display an explanation of its rules.

If all the fields in a single row display a green OK, the current deck is legal for that format. If any field displays a red X, the deck is not legal for that format. You may click any red X for an explanation of the problem.

Test Draw

This option can help you get a sense of what an average hand might look like for the currently active deck, or how many card draws it might take to get a combo into play. It defaults to a sample opening hand of six cards. Click on cards in the hand to discard them, and click Draw to draw a new card. Click Shuffle and Draw to restart the process.

Deck Statistics

This option accesses a series of charts and graphs detailing the composition of your deck.

The Chance to Draw tab shows your percentage chance of drawing a card of the type you specify at the top of the window. You may instead view the percentage chance to draw a specific card by clicking the quantity option, then typing in the number of copies of the given card you put your deck. In either case, the first bar of the graph will represent your initial hand of six cards, while each following bar represents later turns, assuming the hand limit and rate of drawing (and playing) cards that you specify at the top of the screen.

The By Rarity tab displays a pie chart showing the percentages of different rarities in your deck.

The By Tech Cost tab displays a bar graph of range of costs in your deck. Each card is displayed by its combined tech cost. (For example: a card costing 2 Mind and 2 Entropy would be shown as a 4 cost card.) You can choose whether or not to include individual techs in the calculations by checking or unchecking the boxes at the top of the window.

The By Card Type and By Race tabs display pie charts showing the percentages of those two characteristics in your deck.

Import Old Deck

This option imports a deck from the previous version of Star Chamber so that you may continue using it. You must re-save the deck in the current software before you can play it.
