Conquer Phase

Index -> Playing the Game -> Execution Phase -> Conquer Phase

In this phase, each planet in the galaxy is checked to see if any player has brought more local influence to it than his opponents. If one player has, he conquers the planet and brings it under his control. (If there is a tie for most local influence, control of the planet does not change from its current state.)

No player can ever conquer the Star Chamber.

When a player conquers an industrial planet, it loses any build points it had previous accumulated.

When a player conquers an artifact planet, he will select the artifact tech it generates at the beginning of the following turn.

Each of your planets can also become blockaded during this phase, in any of three ways:

  • There is at least one local enemy ship and no local friendly ships.
  • One or more of your opponents has as much local influence as you.
  • You have no local influence.

When a planet becomes blockaded, its name appears in parentheses on the map. Certain cards can take advantage of this state, and the normal benefits the planet would get during the production phase and destiny phase are reduced. A planet with no culture and no production cannot be blockaded.
